4 Bedroom Detached Villa in Alhaurín el Grande
Description
This executive family home was built in 2008 and is still in exceptional condition, having been maintained immacuatley. The area of El Salmeron has now been adopted by the municipality of Alhaurin el Grande as an Urban Zone.
This is excellent news for value, convenience and overheads as well as maintenance of the area. Even better, the zone in front of this amazing house is a green belt, so will not be built on and allows for uninterrupted views to the mountains and a dramatic sunset ( especially sitting on the raised terrace with a cocktail ).
Walking distance to the pueblo of Alhaurin el Grande, this corner plot offers a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom home, with wonderful light and many great open plan spaces for living and entertaining. The living area of the home overlooks the pool on each level.
There are colonial style wrap around terraces on all levels. The suburb is mostly architect designed family and executive houses.
The neighbourhood is well lit and constantly maintained. This Villa has large bedrooms, spacious entry spaces and landings, ample bathrooms and it flows very well from one area to the next: the top floor for sleeping, the ground floor for living and the basement allows for a multitude of options.
There is the added bonus of underfloor heating and a full water filtartion system. The lower level would make an amazing games room, storage, self contained apartment or indeed apartments ( with its own access and bathroom already).
The garden is low maintenance with potential for a lot of planting and zoning of the spaces. The roadside has privacy walling, a pedestrian gate and electric gates for the car entry.
All of this makes for easy access to the ground floor and kitchen. The abundance of terraces means that the property is so adaptable to many uses, including holiday rentals, a bed and breakfast or indeed, a retreat of some kind.
The outstanding feature here is the swimming pool. We have never seen a proper 20m x 4 m pool in a domestic home in the area.
It spans the house and is such a bonus. The pool area could be reimagined to really emphasise the beauty of the garden and view behind.
Not only do you have a beautiful garden but a sports facility too. We love this home for 3 main reasons, 1/ The sheer potential, it has an almost blank canvas to create any style you would like, 2/ The light and scale and 3 / The location and views.
Everyone desires a property within walking distance of town and the abundance of bars and restaurants. Direct access to major roads, the airport only 25 minutes away, as well as the magical city of Malaga. Coin and its excellent shopping is a mere 8 minutes drive too. At the same time, people want space and views. This house has the trifector.

Alhaurín el Grande
Alhaurín el Grande is a well-established inland town in the Guadalhorce Valley, around 30–40 minutes from Málaga, the airport and much of the Costa del Sol. It offers a practical year-round base with everyday shops, supermarkets, cafés, schools, health services and local sports facilities, while the surrounding area is known for country properties, village homes and mountain views. Demand tends to come from both full-time residents and international buyers looking for more space than the coast typically offers, with access to golf, walking routes and nearby towns such as Coín and Alhaurín de la Torre.
Alhaurín el Grande offers a practical inland lifestyle with a year-round local community, a traditional town centre, everyday shops and cafés, and straightforward access to the Guadalhorce Valley, golf courses and walking routes. It suits buyers who want more space and a working Spanish town feel while staying within driving distance of Málaga, the airport and the coast.
Area scores
It is inland, but still within practical driving reach of Málaga Airport compared with deeper rural locations.
This is a substantial inland town, but it does not offer the pace, scale or urban variety of a true city.
This is an inland location and does not provide a beach or seafront way of life.
The everyday-town setup, housing range and year-round feel make it a practical option for many families.
This is one of its strongest points: it feels set up for real, year-round living rather than seasonal occupation.
Golf is accessible in the wider region, but the area itself is not defined by a golf-resort lifestyle.
It can work for second-home owners who like inland living, but it is less obvious for classic beach-holiday use.
It attracts overseas buyers, especially those seeking a more authentic inland base, but it is less internationally branded than the coast.
It has broad buyer appeal and useful access, but it is not among the most obviously high-profile market hotspots.
It has a strong sense of ordinary local life and feels more rooted than many resort-oriented areas.
The area has attractive homes and some larger properties, but it is not widely seen as a prestige address.
There is no marina-based lifestyle here; that is not part of the area's identity.
The area strongly suits buyers who want an inland Andalusian setting with countryside and hill views nearby.
Evening life exists in local-town form, but it is not a nightlife-led destination.
It functions well for day-to-day family life, but it is not especially defined by large-scale leisure-park appeal.
Outskirts and country areas can be peaceful, while the town itself is active and lived-in rather than sleepy.
Properties on the edges and in the countryside can offer good plots and breathing room compared with denser coastal areas.
There is likely to be interest from long-stay and some holiday renters, though demand is less obvious than in prime coastal zones.
As a sizeable town it offers everyday dining options, but it is not especially known as a destination dining hub.
A town of this size usually supports practical sporting options, though it is not especially known as a specialist sports base.
Buyers often get more space and practicality here than in prime coastal locations for similar budgets.
It has Andalusian character and a traditional town feel, though it is busier and more functional than a picture-postcard village.
The town centre supports day-to-day walking, although hillside and out-of-town homes are more car-dependent.
The inland setting gives access to walking country, though it is not as directly hiking-focused as higher mountain areas.
One thing we've noticed is that buyers who choose Alhaurín el Grande aren't usually looking for the typical Costa del Sol lifestyle. They're often looking for more space, a stronger sense of community and a slower pace of life, whilst still being close enough to reach the coast when they want it. It's a conscious trade-off, and for many people, it's one they never regret making.
